I mentioned a couple of months ago that my daughter was invited & accepted an invitation to join the Jr. Beta Club. Well the date for the induction ceremony is finally in sight, Friday March 5th. I’ve tossed around many ideas of ways to further mark this special day. We consider a special dinner, a slumber party, a spa party and then it hit me!
One of the key characteristics of the Beta Club is Service and since the Susan G. Kormen 2010 “Race for the Cure” is in Baton Rouge, the same weekend of her induction, the answer was obvious.
We will kick off her community service just hours after induction! The “Race for the Cure” is the perfect opportunity to show our support for the fight against Cancer. The “Race for the Cure” is the perfect chance for my daughter & I to hit the ground running in community service efforts. The “Race for the Cure” is also the perfect opportunity for us to WEAR PINK! I could not possibly think of a better way to put her promise to Beta in action! The night before the race, LSU is hosting the Etta James Memorial Meet 03/05/10 7:00pm – 9:00pm
We won’t be racing, but we are helping in ways that we can. If at all possible to please help us reach our donation goal. “The Power of 10” is the theme, but of course ANY amount would help…and be appreciated. Your tax-duductable donations go DIRECTLY to the Susan G. Kormen Foundation.
Sorry, but I can’t post a link to my donation page. But if you’d like to donate, you can Contact Me and I’ll send you an email containing the link to my page at Susan G. Kormen, Baton Rouge.
We have a few other things up our sleeves for “Moody” as well. I can’t wait to share…maybe even with a few pics ;~)
